Social catch up after court

Social catch up after court

Come join Disrupt Burrup Hub campaigners for a much-needed drink after court!

On July 17, eight DBH campaigners will face Perth Magistrates Court to fight a range of serious charges arising from peaceful climate protests last year.

We expect it to be a pretty big day, and we expect to need a beverage at the end of it.

We'll be at the Brisbane Hotel from 6pm and we'd love to see you there.

Will it be a celebration or a commiseration? Who knows!

Either way, join us for a toast to the work we've put in so far to stop Woodside from burning down our futures.

All are welcome!

*The Brisbane Hotel is a wheelchair accessible venue.

ONLINE Public meeting: How and why to DISRUPT BURRUP HUB

We’ve made headlines with a series of high-profile actions that have turbo-charged the public debate around Woodside’s destruction of climate and culture at Murujuga. We’ve hit the art gallery, Woodside HQ, Parliament House, Perth Police Station, and the footy, and caused a full evacuation of more than 2,500 workers from Woodside HQ in Perth.

Now, it’s time for everyone to get involved so we can scale up our efforts to shut down industrial expansion on the Burrup Peninsula.

We’re working on a plan, and we need you to make it happen.

Come along to our public meeting to learn more. RSVP at the link below to be sent the zoom link.

ACTION TRAINING

A specific action related-Nonviolent Direct Action training to plan an action to show that protesters will not be silenced by intimidation and gag orders and will continue to Disrupt Burrup Hub.

The Burrup Hub is a climate catastrophe and a cultural nightmare.

Woodside's development in the North West of Western Australia will pump 6 billion tonnes of emissions into the atmosphere: That's 12 times Australia's current annual emissions.

47,000 year old Murujuga rock art is under threat from chemical emissions from Burrup industry.

We are undertaking a direct action campaign to erode Woodside's social license and DISRUPT BURRUP HUB.

We all have a responsibility to do what we can to avert the crisis in our own backyard.

This training is for anyone who wants to take action with us or learn more about how to undertake non-violent disruption.

You'll learn:

  • The practical skills needed to safely take part in disruptive protests.

  • The theory behind non-violent direct action.

  • How to ground yourself and be calm when taking action.

  • Your legal rights.

  • How to safely navigate police interactions and the legal system.

If you're fired up, or simply curious, come along to enjoy some hot soup, meet other campaigners and learn some new skills.

The training is free but RSVP is essential.

Online Meeting: Catch-up in the wake of Meg & Cops sleepover sesh!

RSVP to receive more info & get the Zoom link for this event.

On Tuesday 1st of August, one nineteen year old Disrupt Burrup Hub campaigner with a spray can faced off against more than a dozen WA counter-terror police who’d just sprung out of the house of the Woodside CEO Meg O’Neill.

Wondering how did police know what was planned? What were the ABC doing there in advance? Was it a good idea to target someone’s home with this protest? How can we keep organising in the face of so much police interference? What the hell happens now?

These are all good questions and all will be answered at this Q&A session on August 16th.

One thing we do know: last month was the hottest month in human history. The world is on fire. Woodside are fanning the flames. We need to stop them destroying our only home. Disrupt Burrup Hub has had a week of headline media coverage, the kind that gets national political attention and sets the agenda.

We want to bring everyone up to speed so we can get on with the task at hand - to Disrupt Burrup Hub!

RSVP to receive the Zoom link for this event!

Drummers Solidarity Event

If you’d like to show your solidarity for the Disrupt Burrup Hub campaign, please come along. It’s before office hours, which means a) Woodside will receive our shared message loud and clear as their staff enter the building and b) you can easily get on with the rest of your day afterwards!

While unfortunately some of us are banned from coming within a certain distance of Woodside property, those of us that can attend will be there stocked with enough Disrupt Burrup Hub t-shirts to ensure everyone can proudly send a message to Woodside: we won’t be scared off, and we all stand strong together to Disrupt Burrup Hub
